The new spec of the popular bus has been delayed. The group behind the interface, PCI-SIG (PCI Special Interest Group), have reasoned that the spec will be delayed until 2010 (with products using it showing up in early 2011) in order to ensure backwards compatibility with version 2.0 and 1.0. Version 3.0 is expected to have twice the amount of effective bandwidth compared to version 2.0
